Powerful, daring, and formidable: the Queensland Wind Orchestra invites you to experience the power and beauty that is Firebird at their second concert for 2016 on June 25.
Conducted by Prof. Rob McWilliams, Firebird starts boldy with Jack Stamp's Gavorkna Fanfare and will take you on a whirlwind through Vincent Persichetti's mischevious Divertimento for Band, Op. 42, Percy Grainger's wonderful Molly on the Shore, Morton Gould's quirky Pavanne (from from Symphonette No. 2), and Eric Whitacre's gorgeous Lux Aurumque before arriving at Igor Stravinsky's 20th century masterpiece: The Firebird Suite.
